I have one, haven't gigged out with it yet. Old rig was Stingray 5 > Alembic F-1X > QSC 1602PLX > Bergantino HT322. I like it well enough at home that I'm pretty sure the Alembic and QSC are going to be shelved after my first trip out with the Shuttle.

I liked the sound of it on Ed Friedland's video but I don't need that sort of power, so on the strength of it, I've bought a Shuttle 6.0 and two GB 112T cabs

I bought a 9.0 a couple weeks ago and have been using it for rehearsals with a full band at stage level volumes. It sounds great and has plenty of power - I've only had it at about 50% volume and EQ is set flat, since I can dial in EQ on the bass (Sterling 5). I sold a EA Micro 500 to get the 9.0. The EA wasn't loud enough for me. The price of $829 'aint bad at all considering I sold my Walter Woods Ultra (1200W) amp for $3000 a few months ago. I bought my first WW back in 1996 when he was still the only micro amp in town, but now "they're" all using digital switching power supplies - finally, so we have a lot to choose from now - and the GB stuff is great.

    Hey

Thanks for the responses. I agree, Ed's video is great and shows of that brilliant hi fi clean sound, and I like the fact you can get some tube grit by cranking the pre amp correctly.

I was thinking of a 12 MAX, but I wanted more volume into one 4 ohm cab/2 8 ohm cabs. I don't think I'd ever use two 4 ohm cabs at once so the 12 was out, plus the size of the 9.0 is great!

In addition, the colour is better, and it makes better use of the medium sized 8 ohm cabs I have, thus making them 'one cab solutions' when I need it, (500W into 1 Aguilar DB212 will eb quite nice!)

Im cancelling another order I have and ordering the Shuttle 9.0 today.

    Thanks

I'm sure you'll dig it. Once I get past Christmas, I'm going to start looking for a lightweight 8 ohm cab to use with my Shuttle at open mics, practices, and smaller gigs.

Well, my take on this statement is: The GB is voiced to be more transparent than the MB. I think MB's "flat" tone is more pumped up. The Shuttle has plenty of low end available, my default is to set the mid frequency to the lowest point (150hz) and boost it as needed. Personally, I prefer the Shuttle's lack of influence on the sound of my bass, until I turn the knob that is.

I suppose some people want to hear a signature tone - that's why there are Ampeg, Eden, SWR, and MB fans. I can dig that for special situations.

The Little Mark actually scopes out super flat.

Thanks for the input everyone. I have now cancelled the order I had on a new (not EB!) 5 string as I still want to test some EB Stingray/Sterling 5's before I take the plunge into 5 string territory.

The deposit I put down has now been trasferred to a Shuttle 9.0. To be honest, I CANNOT WAIT!

In addition, the UK price he has matched at the store is excellent....very good for a brilliant 900W head like this!

    Thanks

Agreed. I think the new GB is a killer amplifier, but I can tell you that the MB Little Mark II at least (haven't had the chance to mess with the other MB models) is flat when set that way, very open and accurate--definitely lets my Stingray sound exactly like a Stingray. Really, both the GB and MB are terrific amps.
