GB Shuttle 9.0 - Anyone played one yet?!

Ive heard Mark Bass and GB gear works great with Stingrays. I have a LM3 and 2 Stringrays, but I'd like a GB for that more hi-fi tone.

I have two Aguilar DB212 cabs, both 8 ohms, and the Shuttle 9.0 seems like a good idea, as if I take one, its 500W into an 8ohm cab Take both, and thats 900W into 2 x DB212s!

Anyone tried a Shuttle 9.0 yet?!

I have tried the Shuttle 6.0 and ended up buying the ShuttleMAX 12.0 because I wanted the dual channels and more versatility. This was before the 9.0 came out, but I still would have gone with the 12.0. The only difference between the 6.0 and 9.0 is power.

I don't see how you can go wrong. The G-B's are quiet, light, powerful and well made. While an Aggie DB751 sure would look good atop your two DB212's, it would be heavy and more than twice as expensive. The 9.0 is a 12AX7 tube preamp only and it has some grind to it. I like the G-B FET preamp on the 12.0 as it is really smooth and controlled.

    Good luck!

not really. The 9.0 is voiced different. It is supposed to have a lot more low end thumb when everything is set flat.

    Hi guys

I have done a fair bit of research on the Shuttle 9.0.

I nearly went for a 6.0. but went for the MB LM3 as I loved the simplicity and the warmth/low end. Many people love the 6.0, but have said it sometimes doesnt have the same low end girth as the MB.

Now, all has changed! I am going to keep the LM3 as I love it! But, I am going to get a Shuttle 9.0 on pre-order in the UK now.

Thanks for the video link, I saw that one a few weeks back, and indeed Ed said the 9.0 is voiced with more low end for mid sized/larger cabs. The Shuttle 6.0/3.0 is mainly for use with the small Shuttle cabs.

I do not have any small cabs, just mid sized 8 ohm cabs and 1 Berg 4 ohm cab, so this Shuttle 9.0 is PERFECT. A little more hifi than the MB, and also a nice bit of tube grit which they seem to have improved.

I will update you when I get it!

    Thanks

Well, yes and no. The 6.0/3.0 can be used with a cab of your choice and sound very good. With the 6.0/3.0, you will need to dial in a little more low end. It's there, but you need to coax it out. The "problem", and I use that for lack of a better word, is that dialing it in tends to eat up some headroom. May or may not be an issue so I guess this is a case where YMMV.

It is my understanding that the EQ points were changed for the Max 6/12's and the Shuttle 9 has the same EQ points. I have the Shuttle 6 and I don't think it lacks in any lows as I can EQ them in (I guess I have to turn the knob a little more than the Max and 9 owners).
