    argh...help please guys

    first i am a tit !!

the volume control on my bongo was a bit bent so i thaught i would try to straighten it a bit.....yes big fat fingers broke it off.

i called the guys at my local store (the same guys who took 2 week tp place my order for the 25th ) and i have a feeling i will be making about 20 calls untill i get this part.

but the main problem is its stuck at volume off so i cant play it !!

    so 2 questions

    1) should i just keep calling my store to order the part, and hope that someone will bother to do it for me.

    2) does anyone have a clue how i can turn the volume up so i can play it untill i get a new pot

    oh and

    3) anychance i can be made the Irish rep for EBMM for a week just so i can light a fire under these guys

    Cheers

    Dave

i know the guys in customer care would sort it out in a jiffey, but i dont want to bug them, the dealer should be able to get this.in the meantime i can live with the volume stuck on full but i cant play it stuck off.

do you think you can solder in a new pod? As it is just the volume it should not be that complicated. I guess the Poti is 500kOhm log, but this can surely be answered by the customer service.

You get get a new poti at a local store and use it while you wait for the original part.

    The Stiffness to the rescue!

I did post about this once, a long time ago, when I dropped a Bongo and bent the shaft a bit (sounds painful, shut UP), but I just lived with the slightly off-kilter shaft. I tried a little bit to bend it back but realized right away that the only thing I was going to do was break it.

I bent the one on my first Bongo and did get it bent back without difficulty, so I've never actually had to replace one. But I did remove the electronics at one point, so I got good look at the pots.

They're not standard pots like you find in most instruments. I've never seen anything quite like them. I seriously doubt you'd find a direct replacement locally.

CS should be able to hook you up.

Have to play a stingray while you're waiting for a replacement pot. Bummer.
