According to the schematic, the passive tone control is bypassed when in active mode.

    Good point.

It looks obvious now but when I thought the passive tone worked in the active mode, it didn't make sense.

That's what I needed to know.

    Thanks,

I took a look an official EBMM schematic diagram of 25th series and in active mode passive tone control pot is disabled!

But in passive mode it should work like on old fashioned passive basses for cut high tonal spectrum, so when open clockwise that blend is bypassed, turning it counterclockwise it's muting high frequencies, for example when put new strings you can cut "zing, zing" tone down with this pot, right?

    Correct me if I'm wrong!

    You are correct.

On some basses, when you're in active mode, the passive tone control is still operational. After looking at the schematic and playing the bass, it's obvious that it's not operational in active mode.

Which is OK on the 25th. The active mode, IMHO, doesn't need a passive tone control.

Actually, out of all the basses I've owned with active electronics and a passive tone control, only one of them needed the passive tone working in active mode. It was so zingy and brights, the highs just needed to be tamed.
