Cool Are SB14 Fretboards set using glue or epoxy?

Hello, I have an Ernie Ball Music Man Sterling SB14 and want to convert from fretted to fretless by removing the current fretboard and swapping for a fretless fingerboard. Does anyone know if they use epoxy or glue for setting these fingerboards to the neck.

    Thanks in advance!

I thought he was a real zombie, but I guess with a name like "James", I was just setting myself up for disappointment.

It would be cool, unless there was a zombie revolution.

Then I can see some pretty funny assumptions being made.

    Amen to that.
bovinehost: Yes, I do agree with that, but if there's nothing wrong then there's nothing wrong.
Beth: I would compare Bongo to Tommy Lee Jones. Bad a$$ and just hot in a weird way...
cheezewiz: They should take their lace thongs off and play bass.

How can you be sure it's not epoxy?

Thanks for the info and if it is glue, that is great news for me. Is there any other way to double check that it is for sure glued on? The reason I ask is I actually heard that they are more likely to use epoxy overseas (so opposite of what your experience has been).

Also, I was told that the body on these is swamp ash or ash but I am not convinced by the sound. I think it's a great sound I just can't place it though. Anyone know about this?

    Hey Beatnik,
Welcome to the forum, hope you stick around

SB14 is basswood. It's the Ray34 and Ray 35 which are swamp ash.

FYI... The guy that answered your question above, Pat park, well it's his company that worked with Sterling and Dudley to develope and produce the Sterling by Music Man line. Pretty safe to assume its wood glue I reckon

Welcome again. Hope your mods turn out awesome! Post some pics.
