New member here with a question?

Is it alright to ask current opinion here about value of very near mint condition '79 nat ash stingray? No dings, bumps, cracks or checking, original case, strap, hang tag manual keys and hex. Little to no wear frets. Scratches on plate only.
    many thanks

perfectly alright, where are you from? in the uk i'd say about £1.5k+. I don't personally think they're worth that as i don't get the whole vintage thing, but that's what they seem to go for.

in this day and age it is worth what it its worth for the buyer. you could get 3k for it, but it could go as low as 1500.. put it on the bay and see if someone takes the bait. if not you probably have to lower the price..

less relief / flatter = lower action
more relief / bow = higher action
do NOT use cheap tools to adjust with. they might break and scrape up your pressious!
also, if you are lucky enough to have a 100th namm sr4: the truss works the other way around on that one!

Thanks for the reply unrepentant, I'm in Arizona this week. Local bass vendor here is only offering 1,500 US, not sure I'll go at that price, it really is like new.

yeah, well they have to make a living too. I'm not sure what it's worth in the USA would be. I would keep an eye on ebay, as mr musashi said, it's worth what someone will pay for it.

the dealer is most likely going to do what i suggested.. buy it cheap and see what someone will pay for it on ebay.
my humble suggestion to you would be to take the time and make the effort to do that yourself. take some good pictures, write a good description and put it on ebay. my gut feeling says you will probably get more than 1500 for it

    best of luck to ya!

Old StingRays are still selling in this market. It's no suprise the dealer offered 1500, seems typical, he'd easily sell it for 2500...very easily if it's as minty as you say.
