    Unhappy Help. No tone controls!!!!

    Hi all,
I have a '00 EBMM Stingray with 3 band EQ.
I plugged it in the other day and a got an awful squealing sound from my amp.
I was playing it today and can hear it but the output volume has dropped considerably and I seem to have lost any of my tone controls.

Does anyone have a clue what this may be?
I've replaced the battery and swapped cables. My amp is fine with other basses.
    Help!

Lift up the tabs inside the Battery Box, it's very simple, the tabs are bent flat or a Battery wire has come loose, If your not experienced in doing this just got to any local repair guy, it's a 10 minute Job.

    Thanks!!!! You're awesome!

I took the battery compartment out and it looks like there was a build up of stuff on the terminals (a bit of battery acid, I presume).

So now it's a bit cleaner and much more toneful(?!). Woo Hoo!

I might get some one to take a look anyways, just to make sure I got rid of it all.

    Once again thanks, Musicman nut.

FYI, an eraser is good for cleaning the battery contacts, glad your bass is ok

This is a good time to point out that it is not a good idea to store or leave batteries in anything if it will go mostly unused (not necessarily referring to the OPs case) for any period of time... Battery goo can go on a rampage and it's a corrosive b$@ch to clean up.
