    Snow

I love snow, here are some pics of New Years Day at our local golf course.
There definitely seems to be less frequency of snow compared to my youth but i may be romanticising.

Anyway I would love to live somewhere that had snow that stayed in the winter, we are lucky if we get a week out of snow when it comes here (NE coast of England).

What's the matter? That golf course looks perfectly playable!

In fact it's snowing here as well now. (North of Holland)

New Year's morning picture from my hotel room balcony. Alice Cooper and Fleetwood Mac did a concert at the hotel for New Year's eve.

You say that now, but if you had it all the time, you might change your mind.

I love the look of snow and the Christmas season just wouldn't seem right without it. Skiing, skating, snowballs and sliding is fun, especially when you are younger. What I hate is driving in it, shoveling it and the general mess it makes in the springtime when all the sand and grit and stuff they put on the roads is left over, not to mention the pot holes and general horrible condition of the roads. Now I understand why there are so many "snowbirds" that go down to Florida for the winter!

I don't think so, or i would like to hope not. Im prefer winter be a definite, not a blurring between autumn and spring containing sleet and grey skies.

Like i said i may be romanticising about my carefree youth but we used to get more and deeper snow for longer?????

I dont mind the current level of snow clearing and mark my words it doesn't need cold weather to make the UK roads any worse, I think recently there was an Antiques Roadshow special on parts of the A1 motorway

We had a green Christmas in southern Ontario. I have yet to use the shovel, and thats ok. I am not a kid anymore...so I don't care for the snow.

5 inches of old snow plus the two we are going to get today. Too cold to enjoy being out to play in it.

Global Warming and the Snow in the UK

I'm here in Tennessee with Al Gore so I am an expert and can explain this. You see man-made CO2 emissions are causing global warming. This is melting the polar ice caps which has caused the ocean levels to increase slightly. This increases the surface area of the oceans -- this is where it gets complicated -- which causes CO2 absorption of the oceans to increase which causes global cooling, and increases evaporation, thus more snow. So, global warming is actually making it colder and more snowy. And now you can't play golf!! Pretty simple, really.

I love snow and skiing, but we have no real mountains to ski on here.
So I do a lot of biking.
We had really cold/wet/rainy weather for the last months and that made me start to go running (and I do not like that much).

Anyway my little daugther loves the snow.

I'm going to brave the snow and ice tomorrow, blast down some cross country routes and get PROPERLY muddy it's my skatepark riding that really takes the backseat this time of year, it doesn't rain all that much but it's never warm enough to dry out properly, so i've barely ridden for months
