As a die-hard fan of the original SR5, I find myself doing double-takes with these new 5-stringers simply because of the change to the 4-string style scratchplate.
That said, I'm totally loving these new models - especially that Tobacco Burst. And as for those birdseye maple necks... whoa!! Can't wait to try them out.

Those classic SR5's look great! I'm glad to see these come to be. I especially like that pickguard! AND a two band EQ!!! Really cool!!!

I just ordered me a "Classic 5" in mint green with rosewood neck and birdseye neck. Yum!!
Got mine at what I consider the ONLY place to buy a bass....Bass Central...The Beaver rules guys( errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and Beaver Felton)
