    stingray 5 serial & parallel?

After my guitar player just bought MM 25th Aniversary, I just started to wonder would it be any point in installing a parallel/serial switch in regular SR 5 HH? Is it possible to do it now? Do not misunderstand me, I absolutelly love the sound as it is, i am just wondering.

P.S. Did I miss similar discussion in the past? if so, I am sorry...

What I wanted to ask was can I somehow get coils 1 and 2 (bridge pickup) to work in series, and is there any sense doing this? I appreciate any answer...

If warranty is gone, make some DIY electronic job by Yourself!

    ...or, buy a Sterling!

    Option#1:
I prepare to use one of 5 way switch positions on my Sterling 5 HS (which rarely used) and rewire it different! I wait warranty to expires and than will open back preamp cover on my Sterling to make a plan!
It's possible that switch is factory covered/filled with resin, plastic, glue or something..., in that case I'll quit!
By the way, I'm tech educated person, so I can do it by myself!

    Option#2:
For Your purpose I already have this option , but I want some other pickup wiring combinations, bridge coil 1 & neck coil 3 in parallel, instead of coil 2 + 3 in series!

Seems we should just swap our basses! Just joking... I'll try to figure something out, but just like yourself I am not very keen to tamper with the wiring if it means breaking things. Will keep you posted if something interresting jumps out of the box.

Depending on where you live, it might be easier to just trade your HH for an H, which comes with built-in series/parallel settings.

I hear more mids with series, it's just a stronger signal like a boost effect so to me series is a more aggressive modern tone and parallel more a subdued vintage voicing, imho.
