She came home today. My new Stingray Classic.

I just got back a little while ago from G.C. with my Stingray Classic in mint green. This thing is awesome. It has every incredible feature that the older stingrays have as well as that fat sound and sustain that the string thru the body stingrays are known to have. It weighs 9lbs 2oz. One of the best parts of this bass is the fact that I had a 15% off coupon that G.C. is offering this weekend for thier presidents sale. I don't want to put it down but I have to go to work. Here is pic.

Thanks big poppa! You and all your staff did a great job!

Ok I HAD to go to the local GC (Murrieta) to see one of these in real life. Sure enough there was a mint green SR4 there with a RW board hanging waaay up high. I boosted myself on an Ampeg combo while no one was looking and pulled the bass down to test it since I've never had my hands on a 2 EQ before.

What a nice, dead simple preamp. I dialed in my tone as soon as I figured out how the non detent knobs work (although it took me a couple of seconds to realize why the jack won't plug into the side of the bass heehee). I wish I had enough time to figure out how it differed from the 3 EQ but the 10 to 15 minutes I spent with it was enough to convince me that going from 3 EQ to 2 EQ gives up nothing in terms of tone.

Sweet bass. Makes me want to flip a couple of mine to fund one now.

I love the 2 band. I have never been a big mid kinda guy so I always keep the mid on the 3 band in center detent position. Like syciprider said above it didn't take me very long to dial a nice tone in on the bass. If you have the money and a G.C. near you has one. Get the 15% off coupon off of G.C.'s website and dive in. You won't regret it.

By the way thanks for all the nice comments.

That bass looks sweet. It would look sweeter with a tortoise pickguard IMO. Congrats man and play the heck out of it.

I was seriously considering that. I saw a pic of a power blue one with a tort guard and a white pickup cover and thought hmmmmmmmm! That would look good with my mint green one.

That is really a beaut! And I know what you mean about the 2 bander, it's nice and smooth. Good time to be a bass player, no?
