    Pick Guards ????

    Was out shopping today an went past (into) a craft shop so just for fun i got some different coloured papers and cards to see what different colours looked like under my clear guard just thought id have an ask an see what you all think , (at present there is still the clear PG on there as i personally love the look of the wood , was just for fun mainly), so lets see what people think!

    Brown Leather Effect:


    Black Leather Effect: (i no theres not much between the two but enough, personally like the black.)

    The black leather actually looks damned good. The stripes are hideous though....get rid of that paper!!

    The stripes went in the bin before i took the next picture LOL! The fireworks don't look to bad but .... bit naff/tacky looking, but the black leather is starting to look like a keeper.

    There is nothing on the bass at present still like the look of it clear but the black dosent look that bad, maby with a white pickup cover ???

    LOL Nice one Fran!!! it was MrsDan who picked that piece of card up at the store an said at the time that it looks like one of Julian Clary's shirts!!

    A clear p/g with interchangable sheets underneath is something Yamaha did with some of the guitars back in the 80s/90s, I always thought it was a neat idea. The trick is make sure that whatever you put under the p/g is on high quality paper or plastic. It's a great way to put photographic images on your instrument without having to go the custom route, cheaper too.

    Oh yeah, leather not bad at all, fireworks so so, stripes NOOOO!

    I prefer it with a clear guard, but I'm not like Mark who only caters for Tort!

    Danny I have to say that for me, standard black on the sunburst is the only way to go - however for other colours these work well (I love Ragin Rog's Dargie with zebra stripes). Can't wait to see something like this on a Bongo as well.

    Yeah there is only the black one left in the running, the "antique looking leather" effect is kind of nice looking (slightly different if nothing else) but it still just looks great with the clear guard on it.
