Incoming Big Al 5 single H rosewood!

Since I was in the market for a Big Al 5 single H rosewood, I have chosen:

    WHITE PEARL/BLACK PICKGUARD

I've been saving money from every gig and have received money from my parents and my wife (who gave me money towards it as a Valentine's Day present.)
Another forum member (davidjbass) special ordered a fretless Big Al 5 single H so does this make me the first knucklehead to be getting a Big Al 5 single H fretted model? This is a distinction that I am definetly OKAY with.

    Dear Bass Addicts,
Mr. Sit is one lucky man...another bass. Where does it all end? The afterglow of the orange firemist Bongo has not even waned and he's onto a new bass.
    Should I be worried?

    Signed,
    The Bass Widow

The positive on this is that you know where he is, what he is doing, approve of it and are involved. Sounds like a win-win

My Mrs. is also involved with my musical pursues and it is another thing we share and build memories with. I count myself as blessed in that matter. Sounds like Mr. SOMB is also a luck hubby

Mrs. S... Mrs. mmbassplayer has an incoming bass. She had previously played guitar and piano before she met me but i have converted her. She is already talking about another. Maybe you should get the Mr. to teach you a thing or two so you can get your own. JOSH

Today (Valentine's Day) I am playing just one set at a Haiti earthquake benefit in the afternoon and then she has me all to herself.

I'm going to treat her to a nice romantic dinner followed by an evening's worth of pampering.

Mr. Sit has given me two lessons on the bass. To his consternation, it seems that I am not naturally gifted in the bass playing arena. As I am a teacher, I kept having him take me one step back until I was only playing the index finger on the right hand. Yes, just one finger, just one string and just one note, and I still have issues. He is very encouraging, though (secretly) baffled, I believe, that it was possible for someone to find it that challenging to simply pluck one string wth one finger in time....I told him how talented he was...he told me that I just needed to build my muscle strength/dexterity in my fingers. It was fun, though. And since he has already purchased a bass just for me (yeah, right), I will continue to practice until I can play a series of non-spastic notes with some semblance of timing. I believe it is possible.

I am teaching my girlfriend too, the first tune I taught her seems to be very simple to "get it" for someone who has never played a note, because it's a popular song, you would have heard it on the radio a zillion times which makes it easy to know what to play next using your ear. You should try it MrSOMB "The Killers - Seven Nation Army". My gf had never even pointed a finger at a bass before in her life now she has her "own" well one of mine she can use so to speak. We are also all Valentine'd up today and a lil' shook up too

To Mr.SOMB Candy red, damn!! How could you let that one go?

    Congrats to you both

If you've still got a chance to secure it, go for it, you can always get black or white but what if Candy Red gets discontinued? Imagine the pain and sorrow.

A white bass looks good under those bright stage lights in your gig pics IMO. Now if you were playing small clubs then it's red bass FTW.
