    Possible Jack problems

    Hey guys,

I was just wondering if anyone had a similar problem.

After plugging my bass in today (2010 'Ray Classic) I noticed that every now and then my sound would be very thin. Like there was a wire loose somewhere on the preamp. I swapped out cables, so I know it's not that. Could this just be a loose ground-wire or something? Maybe a dead battery? I haven't had it plugged in long enough for the battery to die, unless they only last around 20 hours playtime .

So if anyone has had a similar problem, if you could help, that would be awesome. I took a quick check on the wiring for the preamp, nothing looked loose, but then again, in my apartment there is nowhere with sufficient lighting to really give it a good look.

    Thoughts? Suggestions?

    Welcome to the Forum.

With electronics, always check your battery first. Otherwise seek advice from where you bought your Bass or contact Ernie Ball customer service:

re-soldering, in my experience, is pretty common need for basses older than 8 years or so.
