Bass mutes

Hi, I have a -78 Stingray and I'm thinking of assembling bass mutes on to my bridge.
Though i wonder if these new ernie ball mutes will fit on to my -78 pre-eb Stingray. Have anyone tried this or can simply answer my question.

Haven't tried them, but from reading on the forum I got the impression that the mute assembly always stayed the same regardless of the changes the bridge underwent.
