The testaments here convince me I better just stick with my SR 5. I wouldn't ever want to put myself in a position to have to choose between good sounding basses.

Aiyyyyyy, 'tis a horrid thing, lad.I wouldn't ever want to put myself in a position to have to choose between good sounding basses.
In my mind it would be like loving two women.

Not bad but certainly not healthy if you take your mother out of the loop of loving two women at once.

i have 5 basses now ... a stingray, a sterling, a fender usa jazz, a fender usa p and my first bass ever (some epiphone). They're all 4 bangers
i got through phases where i'll exclusively play one for a few weeks, then the other, then the other.
i'm pretty satisfied with my variety with these boys and im not likely to ditch any of them. they all sound great through my rig .... svt classic + aguilar 4x10, all strung with dr hi-beams but the jazz likes fat beams better
I do want to "build" my own bass though (more like order a bunch of parts from warmoth and screw them together). other than that the only way i'll start GASin is if i end up wanting to play a 5er.
I have a SR4 and an '87 P bass... life would not be the same if either were not there for me...![]()
I spent over twenty years with just one bass ( early TV logo Pbass) and then they started following me home. I will never part with that bass but it's pretty much retired now.It looks like it went through the Boer War.Now I tend to bring home one a year and I generally get something quite different from each previous year.
i unfortunatly have not had the oppurtunity to own one of these fine instruments. i have palyed one, and its the only bass i truly wish to have. a stingray 4 running through an ampeg svt with my ampeg 412 would be the holy grail for me. thats all i would need. even though i dont own one, i would use my limited experience as a testimonial of the music man greatness.
stingray w/ svt classic is heavenly.Originally Posted by skabassist13

The worst thing about being in the poorhouse is finding a place to plug in your computer so that you can spend time on the forum!Originally Posted by tkarter

Stay there until you get your first EBMM bass. Then love it play it and get the rest of the good things in life.Originally Posted by skabassist13

Music can give life, but it can't be life.
Especially in this world today.
