Would you trade your Sr5 for a Marcus Miller 4?

    Question.
Would you think this was a good idea, trading a Maple/ash Sr5 for a Marcus Miller 4? Getting disgusted with the fret sprouting on my Sr5. Now, the Marcus does not have a case, and the store wants $595.00. I've always wanted a Marcus, but is this giving up WAY too much??

Um, you could get $800 easily on eBay for your SR5. You do the math.

I ended up trading my Warwick Thumb for a MM4 w/case. I got some goodies to even out the deal. I'd keep the Ray 5 though....unless you wanted to trade.

even though i would probaly pick a jazz over a sr5, money wise i think you'd be losing out there. go play the marcus miller bass, then if you really wanna trade, see if you can put the miller on lay away, and ebay/sell your sr5 that way you can have some left over cash.

You talked me out of it!

    Compadre's,
I guess I'll go with my first thought, taking it in and getting the side of the fret's filed down. I knew dollar for dollar I could make out better selling it outright, but I'm too darn impatient for THAT common sense move!

go with what you feel is right. when i first picked up my jazz bass, i had the shop hold it because it just was the bass i was looking for and it just fit me. play the marcus miller some, and which ever you like more keep it, dont let anything else change your mind.

isn't the marcus miller made in japan?
it seems wrong to trade an american made instrument for a japanese one.

You could always sell it cheap to a fellow Michigander *cough me cough* I'd definitely pay $600 for it plus I’d pick it up.
You see this? THIS... is my BOOM STICK!
