    How long would you wait?

OK the SUB 5 bass I bought on ebay for a friend of mine just came and of course I want to rip open the box and start playing. Then I'm thinking of some comments I've seen before about drastic climate changes and hurting the finish. It came by UPS and it's about 10 degrees out here so I'm thinking I should wait a while. How long would you wait?

It is sitting in my office now at 72 degrees in a gig bag and it sounds like there are packing peanuts inside the box.

Hi T, all I've ever done was usually wait half an hour or an hour at the most for the case/bag to warm up with the bass inside. Waiting an hour is rather generous too(i think) but hey, if you've got the time, why not wait a bit and "visualize" those Israel H. riffs flyin'!!

QUICK, remove the bass immediately &
start licking the neck near the fret ends.
This will prevent fret poppage . . .if it's
    not too late.

WOW! Finally got a chance to look at it and it IS perfect! Not a scratch or dent anywhere on it! The pickguard plastic is still TIGHTLY on the p/g. It looks like this hasn't even been played! Yay for my pal Brian! (Actually his name is Brian Wilson - how ironic!)
