    Return of the Pink Sterling

Watching the Orange Bowl Halftime show while (gulp) folding laundry, I was surprised to note Ashleeeeeee Simpson was the closing act after some other awful noise.

As a sidenote, I think after the SNL fiasco, she must have been too scared to use pre-recorded vocals, and so, at the end of her scream-fest, her voice was clearly giving out. And it wasn't much to talk about even at the beginning of the song.

God bless studio wizardry and the lunatic taste of the record-buying public.

Anyway, her bassist was again using the pink Sterling. Looked great.

Hard to say what it sounded like given the .... um ....mix.

I also saw that. The Sterling looked really cool. She sounded horrible, and the folks at the game must have agreed. They shot loud boos as she ended.

The bass player and drummer still had the best seat in the house.

Yeah, I saw that, too. The mix was just terrible. I could barely hear the vocals and everything else sounded muffled. Yuck. Anyway, that pink Sterling was rockin'!

Okay, I was folding laundry but now I'm sitting up, having a martini and I DO NOT HAVE TO GET UP TO GO TO WORK IN THE MORNING so how's that?

And I'm nearly certain that it says something deep and disturbing about our society and culture in general, but I haven't had that third cup of coffee yet.

I'm more frightened than sad, but that may have something to do with your little avatar.

    See it here!

Starting to think about returning to bass playing in the very near future.

No, no, it's like a silverback, isn't it? If you look it right in the eyes, it sees it as a challenge.
