    I was actually wondering about the apparent lack of pickguard screw holes.

    unless it is an aftermarket body it looks like this one left the factory without the normal pickguard screwed on. seen some 'rays like that but not a SR5.

    I find it hard to believe that a SR5 would leave the factory without a pickguard. And, I really find it hard to believe that it would leave with that little pickguard nub on there.

    Any chance of a serial number verification on E07200?

    This bass was made for an empoyee here. I have heard that in order to get basses without pickguards, elaborate measures were taken, up to and including cutting the heads of screws and gluing them on the pickguard and sticking the pickguard on with double sided tape. This was frowned upon, and I'm sure it could have gotten somebody fired real quick, but I am told it did happen.
