I thought I'd misunderstood the fretless comment. Guess not.

Are we all seeing the same bass?

    I'm seeing a white-ish 2 band fretted on rosewood.

    With 'slaw on the side.

I don't now... ...it was the word 'buzz' that I misinterpreted. Think I need to get my eyes tested. Blind at thirty three... ...I wonder what could have caused that?

Does that mean you guys are gonna roast me for making a mistake?

BTW: If you would like to find out more information feel free to give the Bass Palace a call and ask to speak to Bob if he's in. A great guy, extremely helpful - I bought my Smith 5 from him in 2002. Don't email him because he gets outrageous amounts of spam which regularly sink his email accounts.

PS: He had a cutlass 1 in just after I got the Smith 5, ex-name player and refinished in pearlescent pink of all colours! I've still got the piccies somewhere.

No problem here, I just couldn't figure out what was going on.

    Like THAT'S never happened before.

Anyway, I still have no idea whether or not that bass (a) has an ebony fretboard or (b) was made for Larry Graham.

Either could be true; all I can say for sure is that it's the first I've ever heard of it.

I bought this bass. It turned out to be a "NOT AS DESCRIBED" bass to say the least.
The body was a refin that was made after thinning the body by 1/4",
The tuners were Schallers, the pickup was a later EB pickup,
the neck was refinished as well and had been over sanded badly so that it doesn't even fit tightly in the body pocket, all soldering points were broken and the list goes on and on...

Outrageous amounts of spam hah ?!?
This is probably why he never responded to my emails...
I was ripped off by this "nice guy".

    KEEP AWAY !!!

I've found the best way to reach Bob (Swami) is through the question system on ebay for one of his auctions. I believe his username is 'thehyn'.

Here is a link to his current auctions: swami's auctions

    Thank you Steve and Todd,

I'm located in Israel and it's a pain to ship basses half way around the globe, not to mention the costs.
The full story was that he actually got my first eMail with the list of problems and tried to dismiss most of them... but eventually he promised to replace the non original parts with original period correct parts. I have contacted him many times since but he chooses to disappear on me. Plain and simple!!!
I'm sure he reads the emails.... before I paid for the bass he responded promptly to each and every eMail I sent

Anyway, I'll give him a surprise visit when I'm back to the U.S.
BTW, my post here is not for "getting back at him" , it's for letting other forum guys know who they're dealing with.
