    MusicMan Necks

If this has been covered before, sorry. A lot of basses now have graphite reinforced necks such as MIA Fenders, ect. Now, from what I have read, Musicman dosen't use any graphite rods. Do the rods really help. My new Sterling has a great neck, but what does the future hold for it?

You have nothing to worry about, MM necks are extremely stable.

    >>>Do the rods really help

From my experience, I would have to say no.

Case in point is my 1997 Fender J Deluxe (MIA) which I bought new. It has two rods in the neck. Within in a year, it developed a very large bow.

It's ok now though as I had the neck heat treated.
