Very nice!
Big Al 5SSS Sunburst, rosewood fretboard, tort, EB Flats
Franken-Bongo 5 HHp (The Billy Bass), daphne blue, mint pickguard, EB flatwound strings
Franken-Bongo 5 SHp (aka Moby Dick, the White Whale), black fretted neck with a abalone pickguard, EB Slinkys and a BassMute.
bovine asking if he is done is like asking if the sun will stop shining. the answer is not until it dies.
nice set by the way.
dont you know one to hot-rod? i mean ... you gotta have one tha you put a million mods on.
Well now you've got the full set of models -
you'll have to get each in a full set of colours.
Gotta keep the factory busy.![]()
Okay, Jack...
Now you've got to tell us if you agree with Dargin and Big Poppa about that lone 'bucker. Do you like the tone and placement of it better than the 'bucker on the other two models?
JP6 Pearl Redburst
Y2D Purple Sunset
Dargie Delight (1) Bongo H
Can't say just yet as it doesn't have "my" strings on it yet. I played it for about an hour last night and even with roundwounds it was rockin' pretty good.
Let me get the strings changed and tweak the setup a little bit and I'll try to formulate a comparison.
The Desert Gold on this one is different than the DG on the four banger - definitely more orange.
I think youre going to enjoy it Jack. If I didnt like my new StingRay 5 so much, I might miss that bass.
So are you saying you dont like my setup?? My action is somtimes too low for some. When I shipped the bass the action was low, I mean low.

Yeah, you ain't kidding about THAT! Now, with the relatively high tension strings on there (are those Super Slinkys?), it plays just fine with the action that low. Once I get the TI rubber bands on there, we'll have to raise the saddles a bit.My action is somtimes too low for some. When I shipped the bass the action was low, I mean low.
I imagine that I play a bit harder than you, too, if you can deal with action that low. My touch is not what I would call "light", heh heh, so I get buzz where you might not.
No probs, I think I remember how to adjust these doo-hickeys.
Lovely!! Can't wait to hear what you gotta say in comparing the SH, HH, and H models.![]()
They are actually regular old Slinkys Jack. I really dropped my action that low to give myself some insentive to play with a lighter touch and better dynamics, instead of my usual dig in hard every note style.
Jack, you still need a "P" model... maybe a fretless 4 HP???![]()
