I don't believe I have ever actually engaged the EQ on that Sunn.
Well, I did, really, once or twice, but it was completely useless for my purposes.
So - I agree.

Gk1001RBII with a 410 cab. add a 15 extension for serious power. All the growlin tone and power you will ever need![]()
WE ARE THE MUSICMEN. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE. YOUR BASS KNOWLEDGE WILL BE ADAPTED TO SERVICE US.
Stingray 5 HH
Graphite Pearl finish w/ Moonstone pickguard
My personal favorite bass sound is an Ampeg V4 head driving a 2x15 cab and a 1x18 speaker cab simultaneously.
The amount of air moved by this combination can push things around a room.
This could explain a lot of my hearing loss...![]()

I'll have to say EBS
I haven't owned much (because I only play for about a year or 5), but I have tested really a lot before I bought my EBS Fafner, and it was simply the most versatile, best sounding amp. I don't know where you live, but I believe EBS is really epensive in the USA. I live in Belgium, I still payed a lot for it, but it truly is worth i![]()
Well i got a good price from a local dealer but still i had to give 2300 Euro for this combination. I live in Belgrade, Serbia (imagine)![]()
EBS stuff is quite expensive in USA so many bass players there go for the cheaper amps and cabinets.
But as i said, EBS is the most advanced bass amp technology
You cant beat tube sound, requires maintenance but its well worth it. Ive had an ampeg svt-classic and classic 810 rig now for about 6 months and its all i need.
I personally have SWR, GK and EDEN amps through SWR Goliath Jr cabs. I love all three of my amps but I do like the sound of the GK alot with the Music Man Basses. But that is the sound I grew up with. THe SWR and EDEN are fantastic as well. My friend in the shop runs the big AMpeg Classic SVT and the Ampeg Pro 4 and they both sound great through his Ampeg 410 cabs. He plays heavier stuff than me but he uses Stingrays and it all sounds great.
