    He doesnt play MM's but Ryan Martini strings his 5 string basses GCGCF. It can be done, and obvioulsy be usable. Your just going to need a mondo G string.

    the scale on his bass might also be longer than a sr5's

    Good catch! I really dig his bass playing as well. The only thing I really like about Mudvayne is him.

    He plays Warwick thumb basses. I believe he probably uses the 34" scale version but they just started offering the bolt-on versions in 35".

    If he can do it, maybe I'm not too far off if find the right G string to use(yeah yeah I know).

    PS: in the 60's they just Played a four String but hired a real Piano Player, not like today, you have a key board player with a Piano Patch.

    Jamerson Sound great on a four, sounded low enough for all those hits.

    I know Ryan uses Warwicks, just the guys arond here don't care for that word to much. So I didn't use it. But If he can do it, so can you. I know for his four string basses he uses a 105 - 50 string set so maybe that will help you figure out what you need.
