Mmm, Mustang Sally....I've only played that one eight zillion times. Maybe you can catch me and Jon out back in the alley playing that.

I am not going to make it and am truly sad about that. I have never played Mustang Sally. Anyone care to teach me?
The only song I have played a million times is Sweet Home Alabama.
The rest I am still working on.
The I know I have a ways to go yet

i am always amazed at the # of bass cats that jump up to sit in on " i can't get no satisfaction " ....& play the guitar line instead of the bass line.....

Secret: I hate that bass line. It drives me up the freaking wall. So don't expect it to be ME jumping up for that.
I also detest the bass work on Rod Stewart's "Maggie May". Whoever that was, he was drunk and, I suspect, a guitar player.
(Not that there's generally anything wrong with that.)

We've thought about doing this one too - listening closely, I always felt is was a "first cut, that's good enough" effort.

BP et al, before I am considered a candidate for the aforementioned "man hating woman doctor that can palm a basketball", please let me explain...
My gig for Sunday is our Church sponsored annual picnic - and this year is their 25th Anniversary celebration. We had committed to play prior to my signing on for the Open House, thinking there was no way I could afford the trip this year. Folks in the community are looking forward to it - they have experienced us before. It’s a form of charity that I derive a great pleasure from.
I play with three other guitarists and a drum machine. One guy is my first-cousin and like a brother to me, another guy is one of my dearest friends. These are the kind of guys you do anything for, not just hired-help or casual relations. (I'm real close with the drum machine as well, but that's another story!).
Since I play bass, sing some back-up harmony and program and run the drum machine, there is a significant void in our performance if I am not there. While they've been supportive of my personal interest, my not being there would effectively, well, you know...
On the flip side, and as previously stated, I am most looking forward to meeting the people behind the development and production of the finest bass guitars I've had the pleasure of playing. I want to shake hands with you all, see the inner-workings of the factory and experience, first-hand, how we go from a pile of wood to that beautiful finished product. I want to buy Jon a beer for making my Sterling so sweet I could never consider parting with it, and I want to make merry with the fellow forum folk.
Of course I fully understand the opportunity I am passing-up with respect to the concert - it's killing me. I need to hold true to my commitments and consider the disappointment of those important to me if I were to blow them off. As it stands now, they're a bit nervous about my flying back just in time for our gig and the effect of the red-eye flight on my ability to perform but I'm confident we'll do just fine.
Hope this makes sense... Should there be a "2nd Annual Forum Open House" in the future, I'll have that much more an incentive to return!![]()

I think you should let Bovine sing 1 After 909 at some point in the evening.
Let me sing it?
More like force me to sing it. Besides, I only know the harmony part.
I think I remember the words to "Little Sister" and that's about it for my lyrical memory.
