I took the liberty to start an EBMM Meagthread, I was bored, and the idea was long overdue.

Then when posting pics I got to reflect on a few of the great EBMM basses Ive had my hands on. Im no Jack or Scott, but cut me some slack, Im only 21. Many years ahead of me.

Just for more memories here are the pics of my EBMM basses from Feb 04 to present.

I think I've heard of it somewhere before....

I can hardly wait until my graphite pearl Bongo 5 HHP arrives so I can post pics in that thread. I've yet to snap a decent shot of my Sterling Black Onyx either, but perhaps I'll give it a try so I can post something in the meantime.

I'd definitely say there are a least a couple of stereotypical TB'ers on the EB forums. It's pretty easy to spot them by the time they've made their first 2 or 3 posts here

Spreadin' the love, spreadin' the love....good for you.

I do visit Talkbass occasionally......and I respect the good work a few of our EBMM forum members do over there. I'd hate to try to moderate that place! But Joshua and Heavy Duty do good work. Kudos to 'em.

    Makes this seem like cake.

TB has its detractors and, as someone once said, the signal to noise ratio is not as high as it is here or on the Dudepit, but the internet has done a very good job of making us (bassists, that is) much smarter about our instrument of choice.

TB is not always my cup of tea, but I do often learn things there that I wouldn't learn anywhere else. Gotta see that as positive.

I like TB for the pictures. I am amazed that for such a popular forum, it usually doesn't get overrun by crap that often.

I like TB because so many of those guys are into the latest and greatest most popular fad of the day builder. This is so far removed from my reality that it's like visiting another planet!

I enjoy the differences. Here, if you started a thread about "the most beautiful bass" or some such crap, you'd be sure to get a boatload of SR5s and Sterlings and maybe even some Bongos. Being a lunchpail bassist myself, not to mention a fan of EBMM basses, it's always a trip to browse the exotic woods and single cuts and Unabomber Builders over there on TB.

I really don't get it, but it's fun to watch.

Also, any Bongo thread is like throwing hot water on ants.

    "Let's see if they'll fight!"

In any case, TB is what it is and while it's not my home away from home like this place is, it's almost always educational in some way.

I like TB for the old and young mixing it up in the same field. Kinda like here. Never know what you get and when you can talk about any bass well you can really do any subject.

Good place to sell a Fender too. IMHO

Jeez, Jack - you certainly are diplomatic... for a Texan, anyway.
