The YCV50 is a great amp. I have 2 of them. I bought one, didn't tell the wife and 2 days later UPS comes with another she got me for my Bday. I'm selling it so let me know if your interested. Brand new - discounted. Great chimmy cleans and a moded Marshall in one cabinet. I love it.

I use a 1982 Traynor 410 bass cab with my guitar head and it sounds great. Very well built. There are many people who swear by the Traynor amps of the late 60's and 70's.

The new Traynor amps are built by the same company, Yorkville Sound, in Canada that built mine. No doubt the company has changed some over the years but I'm confident that they still put out some quality gear. They are some of the first I'd check out if I were in the market for a new amp.

I just picked up the YCV40WR and I like it. Its my first tube amp so I don't have the depth of knowledge to compare to other equipment. It's well built, I like the sound for what I would use it for - classic rock to blues, I'm not a metal guy.
GP gave it an editors pick and the HC reviews were very good. Relative to the competition in the same $ range I thought it was a very good value.
