    JP loose output jacks

is it just me, or are the jacks on piezo equipped JPs less stiff on the cables then nonpiezo JPs? i dont mean the jacks themselves, or the nuts that hold them on, are loose. i mean the cables come out with very little force, compared to my brother's (without piezo), which the cable requires a good little "tug".

can anyone verify this for me please?

They're probably different jacks. The piezo JPs will have stereo jacks on them vs the mono ones on the regular JP. So it's likely they'll feel different.

If you want to change this, you can always bend the lugs on the jack slightly- that'll adjust the force required to pull out the cable.

thanks beej. i tried doing that, but it turns out there closed jacks, and PCB mounted, so i dont want to break anything getting into them. guess its time to bust out the flashlight and try and get to it from the plugside opening.

Yeah, they're a bit of a hassle to get at! I've done this two ways- either by openeing up the sealed jack (pain in the arse) or by reaching into the jack with a pair of needle nose pliers. Fun stuff, huh?

This is why I like the Planet Waves cables with the compression jacks. Sung fit every time. Petrucci is using them too.

I think those jacks do more damage to the jack than they are worth.
