You are right man! And it's a really tough choice. But the SUB1 is about 800$ here. Probably even more. Plus, I'm kinda stuck on LP's right now. Don't hold my word! I may change my mind 'till I get some money. Everything is possible! I might even change my mind and buy a 12 string acoustic-electric

What about a Euro Dean Evo instead of an LP knock off, if you can't get the sub-1 yet?

Thanks for the advice, but Evo is a bleeedin' ugly guitar. I wouldn't touch it for a free SUB1 ... okay I would

True the Evo is pretty ugly, but the reviews say it plays better than a real Les Paul, and if you can get a Czech one, it should be cheaper for you.

Of course, a real Ernie Ball blows them all away.

Now that I have a Petrucci I am going to sell off most of my guitars. I just don't play the other ones much anymore. I always reach for the Petrucci. It has better tone and better playability. I usually have to tune down half a step to be able to play, but with the Petrucci, standard tuning feels like it is a half step down for bends, yet it also has a little more tension so it stands up better to picking. I can actually play faster on the Petrucci while bending is just as easy.

Having any MusicMan (especially the SUB1 or ofcourse, the SM ) is definetly one of my long-time goals. EBMM's are just so versatile guitars. Can suit for metal, rock, blues, whatever! But I want to have other 'cause of the differences in looks any some other small things. But having 5 different EBMM's would be amazing (and expensive )

    Junior,

Shop around a bit. I've seen new SUB1 guitars (HH) for the price you're talking about paying for a Les Paul clone. You can catch 'em on special at GC sometimes.

Buying another 'interim' guitar is just a waste of your time and money, IMHO.

I have found nice used guitars in music stores if you shop around or even dare I say, pawn shops. Do your homework! Alot of times pawns can be bought for a very reasonable price. I bought a nice G & L for $500. I also bought a Marshall amp head and cabinet, plus a Jackson Charvel for $350 out of the newspaper(someone hurting for money after a divorce). Sometimes you can get more guitar for the money your talking about and get a guitar that will serve your purpose of gigging plus last along time!

If I'd run into a used SUB1 that I like (HH trem) I'd get it for shure! The thing is even new EBMM's are kinda rare here. But I will do my homework and stock the adds for used SUB1's and I think I will go to the EBMM dealer 'cause they sell used stuff, too. I may just get lucky.

I've made up my mind. I've decided I wouldn't buy a guitar cheaper than the SUB1! even if I'd buy an LP knock-off, it would be in the price range of the SUB1. (new or used)

I think that after all, this is probably the best choice, and who knows when we'll start gigging

Thanks a lot for your help! It's truly wonderful to have people like you willing to help newbs like me! I love you all!

I'm going to the guitar shop in a few minutes and see what's rollin' there.

Hmmmmmmmmm. A tough one here. From the sounds of things ou are in a bit of a pickle. Personaly I would sleep on it. Dont make a knee jerk decision. Best thing to do is to try them both if you can. Have you played the sub b4? You know that we r all on here cause we find these EBMM guitars addictive.

Play them through your own set up if you can.

Finaly---- There are too many LP players out there.....stand out from the crowd young man.

Thanks for the comment and advice. I've posted my "review" about the SUB1 I've played today. Check it out.

I've decided to pass this one and order a new one (with my specs) when I get the money.

When I'll be buying an LP knock-off, I will buy some better one. In the price range of the SUB1.

Hmm I wouldn't say that. But these guitars are indeed in a league of their own. I have one so joined the forum for that reason. Generally a nice place.

But to the matter in hand, good idea, sleep on your thoughts and don't make an immediate decision. I was umming and arring for ages about the guitar I wanted to get, and eventually walked into a shop after about 3 months and found my dream guitar. If I had made a quick decision then I wouldn't have been able to buy the Silo. I guess there is an element of risk in your decision . Play the guitars you are interessted in too. Good luck man and may the force be with you!!!
