    Hello Folks

On two of guitars (including my Steve Morse) I use the Planet Waves locking straps : very efficient and you don't have to change the screw. So your guitar stays "original".
I use also the Schaller system on one guitar I build. Very efficient also, but at the end, I prefer the Planet Waves system. Besides, I found a Planet Waves strap that has a colour perfectly suited to my blueburst Steve Morse, so ... everything is great.

    Au revoir

I'm not sure about whether to get Schaller or DiMarzio for my Luke (that I'm ordering today ). I use Schallers on my Les Paul which I really like. Heard really good things about the DiMarzios though, only concern is the the clips will damage the finish in my gigbag ( hardcases are banned from college because of concerns about damage to the walls etc )

All of my guitars are equipped with Schaller strap locks... Yes, you have to check the little nut that holds the clip on your strap about once a month (and tighten it maybe once a year), but I've never had a bad experience using them... I find the Dunlop ones rattle around too much when I'm sitting down and annoy the heck outta me...

Like NorM, I dropped a guitar... ONCE!

    Question What straplocks are these?

My Silhuette (-93) has strap locks. I thought that they were schallers but I'm not sure anymore: The part that is attached to the strap is not "U" shaped as in schallers. It is more like a "O" and then there are claws (2) that snap to the button in side the "O" shaped barrel. When detaching the strap, turn the knob and the claws loosen their grip and the strap is detached.

So far they seem to hold the guitar very well.
There is no text or symbol in the locks.

Does anyone know are these an earlier model of Schaller locks or what?
I've tied to "google" them but so far the closest I've found is the Schaller lock.

They were on the guitar when i purchased it (second hand) and I do not know wheter they are original or put there by the previous owner. Did MM/EB guitars come with locks in the beginning of 90's? If they did what make were they?

    With Rgds,
    Risto

The original owner must have put them on. From the description they sound like Schallers.

I only have strap lock on 1 guitar and that my JP and they are Schallers, SteveLINY installed them.

I tried them out when I got the guitar and they seem to work well.

Since I usuaully play sitting down I don't use a strap.
