Exclamation A Great idea to get everyone on the planet playing EBMM's.....

So, I'm a newbie, but I had an idea.... so here goes....

EB MM run a worldwide tour where people trade in whatever guitars they have for balls !
    (And cash in most cases!)

Then the traded guitars are singed by EB endorsees, and put up for sale on ebay all profits going to CLB foundation!!

So more players will be on Ebmm owners list and loads of guitars auctioned off for charity!?

Like a said I'm a newbie so if this is a dumbass post please delete it.

Not a bad idea in theory, but it seems to me like EB/MM would loose a lot of money. Sure the money from the exchanged guitars would go to a good cause, but EB would be making guitars and giving them away for free pretty much. That's not a very intelligent buisness move. But It's a good idea, that needs just a bit of tweaking I think.

    That's great!
Now all I need is an non-EBMM guitar to trade.

I think that Guitar center will do this except for the whole selling the guitars for CLB thing.

Downside is that a used trade-in guitar is worth less than half retail value of a new guitar. So, EB would lose a lot of money... they'd be just a well off giving away guitars probably.

Where does Music Man make money to cover their bottom line not to mention make the profit they are entitled to?

At best it would be a promotional gimic that might turn into more exposure and added sales down the road for the company. At worst they'd lose their shirt and have to shut down.

I suspect it would be closer to the latter of these two. I also suspect that their margins for profit are much slimmer than people might imagine.

I'm not trying to beat you up. On some level it is an interesting idea to discuss. It's just not realistic.

EBMM guitars are for those who know they dont have to submit to the mass produced guitar companies who dont appreciate their customers and for those that forget what a quality instrument feels like.
