Have you played a y2d? I didn't have a dilemma. The only dilemma I face is explaining why I want an EBMM so soon after the last one.

    Hi Colin

I didnt talk about you im talking generaly , many people saying the same things about the Luke neck - amzingly comfortable but the guitar colour / look very simple & boring also you can see that not so many people are happy with those pickups and they are talking about replacing them.......

y2d a piece of beauty no one talks about changing pickups there ......and this is not only in MM forum you can read review outside MM forum and its quite the same

so a combination between those two will satisfy a lot of clients out there

This will most DEFINATLY not happen buddy. This has been talked about before, about custom work. But especially it wouldnt happen on the artist signature guitars, because they have the specs the ARTISTS want on THEIR guitars. The only thing you can do is buy both and change the necks and than sell the LUKE with that other neck somehow, and than buy some different pups. I personally love the characteristics of each model that EBMM make. Some are not exactly for me, but that's why they have a pretty huge variety in the first place. Just thought I would make this clear .
BTW, the LUKE is a freakin COOL lookin guitar dude and i sounds even better .

O.K but because it is a mix it isnt have to bother the artist, the company can give it a

new name like super Sillouhete special edition 06

and let that beast run , why not ??? we are talking here about pure business ,

the interest of the company is to sell , and if the clients are happy & they are

buying whats wrong in that ???

btw whats so cool in the luke model looks ???

the second option that you mentioned is also possible but more clumsy

Well I have no problems with the idea you are talking about, infact I think it would be cool as well. However ultimately it is up to the EBMM team to come up with the new things based on what is popular in their current line up. And I dont think many people are UNhappy with the models that are out now. You already have literraly about 1000 different options on the guitars overall. Just in the recent years they came out with the super cool Y2D which you can have in 3 brand new colors that are exclusive to that model, and the 20th anniversary Silo just came out as well, and you also have the 06 limited edition option on all the instruments. You can even get an Albert lee model with a Rosewood board which has NOT been done before at all and gold hardware. Might not be for everyone, but you can get the idea of how hard they are working to get new things out there. And people are buying the heck out of these guitars that are out now based on what I've heard/read after this past NAMM show.
And the Luke is just cool to ME, because it looks really sleek and sexy with those nice smooth contours with the all black EMGs without any coils showing, and the trem is a unique design as well. That is why I personlly like the look, so I'm not saying you SHOULD. But that's why I said that there is other models out there that would suit you better for your own taste. But if you want a "custom' guitar than I guess your best bet will be to go with Carvin or somethin like that. But I bet you that you will love one of these EB guitars without any changes to them. Try them all out and see .

Luke looks boring? Huh? I personally think it looks cool; asthetically pleasing in a mild sort of way. Then again, I'm not one to try to stare in awe of a guitar while I'm playing it, especially if it plays like a luke

o.k there is no argue between us , its a matter of taste ofcourse and its true that mm offering many different style and colors......

but after you see the y2d and its great look you understand that someone invested a lot of thinking about it ...........

but like you said the idea is still good.

If you like the neck of the Luke and the body of a Y2D why don't you get a Y2D and have the neck reshaped?

Alrighty then.....you want a Y2D with a Luke neck. You were told to get the neck re-shaped. Then you say you don't want to mess with the neck because it comes out factory spec'd.....
There are some peeps on here who can do that (re-shape the neck) and are very good at it.

Custom work will NOT....again.....WILL NOT be done. Unless you are an endorsed artist, you will have to pick from the 50 gazillion options available. One off's happen and some are given away and some are put up for auction to benefit the Casey Lee Ball Foundation....which is a great cause by the way.

Every one of us would love for the factory to shut down it's main production to get a one off custom......however, that is not good business sense. Every time they (EBMM) would have to make a custom, it would literally shut down the plant to make that one custom.....problem is, it won't pay the bills, employees or help Big Poppa's golf ball fund.

The artist model guitars are just that. Guitars made to the artist's spec. The artist wants to be able to pull one off the shelf and feel at home. Again, ARTIST SPEC.

Luke is boring?!?! I think not. Those are some great playing guitars.....something you play, not look at. Boring, no.....Playability, Yes.

Again, if you like the looks of the Y2D (good choice) and the neck of the Luke (Awesome), get the Y2D and have it re-shaped to the Luke profile which is something that can be done I am sure. It's not rocket science....or is it? NorM?
"Welcome to the addiction!" is now patented by Koogie2k......if used by anyone other than Koogie2k....you must mail him a US nickel for each time said/typed or signed.......

A WISE AND RESPECTED MAN TOLD ME:

"Do something nice for someone everyday. Don't let your head hit the pillow until you do something nice for someone each day." I hope I don't let him down.
