Oh my god!
That's a Koa top.. but it has chrome hardware? And the finish doesn't look like the Island Burst which is normally used on Koa tops these days(before it was Tobacco Burst if I'm not mistaken). That looks like Ruby Burst to me. Got any details? Looks stunning!

terling for my wife. The Gibson made a one way trip yesterday to the amp shop, I picked up an Albion tct35c. I play through that and a crate acoustic amp. So far just can't get enough of it all! And a special thank you to AJ in customer service for all your help!

Nice! Those Koas are absolutely amazing. I tried one out at my local GC, it sounded unbelievable.

Since Koa seems to be the big thing lately, here's mine I just got on May 23rd!

Tanax, that is in fact Koa. I believe GC got a limited run of a Koa Island Burst with chrome hardware, and rosewood finger boards.

Back to the Koa, this time a 7-string!

Mine is Koa, chrome hardware, but ebony fretboard. Haven't seen a rosewood one yet.

Perhaps I was wrong about the rosewood board.

I was just going off memory from when I read about it, they also did I Tobacco Island Burst as the pair with the Koa I believe.

I am really happy with the island burst on the Koa. Grain shows through real nice, on the mahogany parts as well. Wasn't even able to spot a single flaw, and I was looking hard. I will try to post some close ups on it when I find time this weekend.
