And I thought the Silo was a non artist related guitar.....other than the silo and the Axis all the others are signatures!

The Luke is a great guitar that anyone can own without being in Lukes shadow! Its so versatile and flexible for all music styles, and I'm pretty sure that as with all the EBMM sig models, their users do not solely buy these models because of the artist they are related with....

The Silo has no Artist signature on the head stock.

I know the Luke is awesome---I own one---because of the shape, neck feel, and EMG's. Having Luke's name on it as co-designer and endorser is just a bonus. Tristan is hitting the big-time and the media can be quite harsh in labeling him as a Luke copy just because of the guitar he plays, he's endorsed by Luke on his website, Tristan praises Luke as a primary influence etc....(I DON'T consider Tristan as any of this because I've heard all his clips and I love his music on it's own.) The media can be/is a bit**, and is very ruthless. If they were to harp on this point for all of Tristan's career, I can see the pressure setting in to try something else.

That's why I posted the original statement. I was just wondering if the media, or any other pressure, was a factor to using the Silo as his now number one after saying that the Luke was "it." End of explanation.

    More questions for Tristan:

    1. Can you describe the difference in necks between the Silo and Luke in your opinion?

    2. Will you be changing pickups in the Silo, or are you satisfied?

    3. Do you prefer the hum, single, single pickup configuration in any current/future guitar?

    4. Is everything set up to the Luke's spec's on the Silo?

    Thanks

    .

don't worry I had no problem with your question, according to me it was really interessting because I spent so much time playing the luke that this new guitar came as a surprise for a lot of people...

your idea about the media pression is right, but the thing is that I've been playing this silo since the first rehersals for the tour, and I immediatly felt in love with it...

    1. Can you describe the difference in necks between the Silo and Luke in your opinion?
the silo has a D profile, and is a bit bigger, I love that ...the fretboard changes the feeling all the way, I love maple...

    2. Will you be changing pickups in the Silo, or are you satisfied?
I wont change nothing , the pickups are incredible...I have more ouput level and less noise than before...the sound is typical, it has not the same neutral qualities from the luke but it's not "too mucch" typed...it reminds me andy timmons sound...

    3. Do you prefer the hum, single, single pickup configuration in any current/future guitar?
I love HSS, to me that's perfect...I ordered an axis but next one will be a spare for my silo...but this time I'll order a SSS, cause I'm basicely a strat player ...

    4. Is everything set up to the Luke's spec's on the Silo?
no, the only thing I tuned the same way is action...for the rest, I kept original set up, ( locked tremolo) the guitar is so perfect that I'm affraid to change anything on it ...it does not break strings...this is very important to me.

    Boots Video

Very nice.... guys like you help me to stay humble. So many players think they are good or above average I don't think they have a realistic attitude. Seeing you play defines the goal to get good and be above the rest. Awesome! thanks for the motivation.
