    The Tone Block!

So im curious about the super secret mahogany tone block in the 20th guitars. Does this give the same tonality that you get from a full mahogany bodied guitar? What exactly is it supposed too do I guess? Yes I do have one of these and my ears tell me it sounds great, but I would like too hear from BP and crew as too the idea behind it? Perhaps how they thought of it and why they did it in the first place. Without giving away their trade secrets. Since it is a "super secret tone block"
    Thanks

my guess is that the guitars just have a darker tone since mahogany is such a dense wood. Am I in the right ballpark?

From mahogany guitars that I've owned, it has a deeper tone, but also has a huge amount of sustain. Very resonant.

If I'm not mistaken, BP has said that the tone block runs from the neck pocket to just past the trem.

I don't know if it's similar, but my acoustic is solid Mahogany and the tone is very well balanced and crisp, with lots of sustain.

My guess is that is would remove harshness from the maple top and balance it.

I notice there are not too many trem models made with the block, I wonder if the block is smaller when you have a cut out for a trem, BP, anyone?
