This topic has been hashed and rehashed a few times, even a couple of times by yours truly.
Simply, the demand for piezo is simply not high enough for it to be a standard offer for lefties. I know that one Dargie Delight LUKE was made with piezo and it was left handed... so your best bet is to wait and find out if any special limited edition guitars or basses will offer piezo for us lefties. You have to remember... we're part of the 9% of backwards guitar players out there, my friend. It's a lonely road we're on.
Well, I'm left handed and I play right handed. That's how I solved the problem. YOU CAN'T OUTTRICK THE TRICKSTER!!!!

Im glad to know Iam not the only lefty out there. what kind of EB do you have? Im
curious to see what else i might be able to order lefty. couldnt you just oder a
pezio off the net or a dealer and install it yourself? Whats the worst you could do?
Is it an impossibility or just becasue of the low demand for them?
Well, right off the bat, I'd probably suggest not getting an after-market piezo. You'll damage the initial integrity of the instrument, and it's not a risk I'D be willing to take. Just play acoustic until EBMM does another Limited Edition thing.
As for what's available, you can get a Silhouette Special, an Axis Super Sport or a LUKE. I've been pushing on everyone I could possibly for a left handed JP6, but that will never happen. I'm telling you this so that you don't annoy the piss out of everyone like I have with my whining and moaning.
You'll see a lefty Albert Lee floating around the net (picture-wise) and it's NOT available left handed. Two were made, and one was for Sir Paul McCartney. Unless you're the sixth Beatle, don't expect to see one of them either.
As for basses, they're all available I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong though. The only thing we all have to consider being lefties, is that certain finishes, and options (such as piezo or Floyd Rose) are not available for us.
All in all though, EBMM is the best company for catering to us backwards players... I know my whining and bitching about the JP6LH might make people think otherwise, but I've never played as many good guitars as I have EBMM... both lefty AND righty.
You've chosen wisely, grasshopper. They will treat you well.
awsome. i love these guitars!! i think an axis is next in line. i too have asked many dealers and reps about the JP6 lefty but i guess its just not happening. oh well. I'll just have to wait for a luke....there not that exspensive......
do the lefty axis come with floyd rose?? or is that a feature we cant get?
It really couldn't be the wiring...
I believe it's more like this: the cost of having someone manufacture lefty piezo bridges for the various models simply isn't cost effective.
Remember, EBMM utilizes several different bridges on the various models. Piezo equipped guitars are probably only a small percentage of overall sales. Lefty models are a very small percentage of overall sales. Lefty+piezo must certainly represent an extremely small market.
I guess i will just have to order thousands of them and maybe that will open to market up for us leftys!!!![]()

There's your answer for that.
Also, just remember to not piss off any of the gentlefolk in the company with your flood of requests. It's not as simple as that. I can try and shed some light on things, as I've done some research into it as well:
The JP6 or JP7 is not available LH because the bridge they use is a guitar-specific one. The cost to R&D one for us lefties would be too great, for such a small market.
I believe the same logic goes for all other signatures (except the LUKE) as well, in that the artists did not stipulate allowing left handed production. anyone correct me on this?
I think it's also a pain in the ass for them to create 24-fret necks, again for such a small market. We all have to bear in mind that again, we take up about 9% of the market. By using a pie chart example, almost all of the pie is right handed. The flakes left on the tray after all the RH people are done are us LH people. Hahahaha.
Just exude calmness and exhibit some patience. If there's a new model LH in the works, wait for it. I've been told the same thing numerous times. Don't rush anything or anyone; and if such is not the case, be more than happy with what is offered to us. They have the best lefty guitars on the market.
the lefty dilema is worse than the 9% it is about 3% of our sales and we lose money on each one.
the preamp circuit board has to be reversed and so does the bridge the tooling alone for these two changes is about 20 grand with a 5 year break even at best. The Lefty LUke came about because o Professional Golfer Scott Mc Carron who did some incredible work for the CLB and hat was the reward.

There's the official from the big honcho. My 9% number was terribly high apparently, and I've given myself three lashes for my greivous error. Hahaha.
I actually didn't know the percent was as low as it is.
I guess that's a sad but muchly appreciated fact that each left handed instrument is a loss to the company. Sorry, but thanks!
wow 3% thats insane. you probly have a list of all the lh guitarists that own Eb hahaha. thanks for all the help in answering my questions. i do agree that eb have the best selection for us lefties. awsome quality. i didnt relize that it cost 20 grand to reverse the circut boards. but thanks for the replies.![]()
