    Question About MM Axis:

Last time when i played MM Axis guitar was something like 7-9 years ago. It was funny experience: MM Axis has tremendous "kick" in itīs sound. Salesman told me, that MM Axis pickups are not so high-output stuff, and basically the body shape and material creates that striking sound. Is this true?

I think its a combo, though the pickups on the Axis are high output types.

Ya, I think Axis pickups are pretty high output, but there are a lot higher output pickups out there (EVOs and the Wolfgang pups, for two). The thing I like about the Axis pups is how good they sound as you roll off the volume control - in my experience a lot of high output pickups sound pretty flat when you start winding down the volume, but I don't find that's the case with the Axis at all...

Well, is there any good reason to change originals more powerful Pups?

The Axis pickups are excellent IMHO. They handle clean and gain fantastically.

If you like them (as most do) keep them. If not, change them to something you like. It's totally up to you.

Also, keep in mind that a lot of guys who play with high gain don't necessarily have the hottest pickups. It's all in the amp

I would never change my pickups in my Axi. They all sound fantastic!
