    The answer is no.

Each Guitar Center is somewhat hit and miss. There are 3 within an hour of me in different directions. Between the three, 2 have none, one has one JP.

If you can manage to be in central Connecticut, (Manchester....just outside Hartford), I would strongly recommend contacting Pete DuBaldo in a PM here and arrange to meet him at DuBaldo or Beller Music. I saw and played more EBMM guitars in his small shop than all other guitar shops combined over the last entire year. His in-stock inventory is on-line so you can look at what's there ahead of time. He can't absolutely guarantee that something in particular will be there because someone (like me) might just buy it before you get there.

Here's the site with present inventory:
Ernie Ball / Music Man / Guitar / Bass

    jack
8/17/04 EBMM Axis SS MM90 trans blue (spaceball 3000)
7/29/04 EBMM Sub1 X11376 oil/wax neck, gloss black body, faux binding, HSS w/5 way and silent circuit
07 Albert Lee SSS Black Cherry Burst
    buncha non-ebmm guitars
keep in mind that you are talking about four pieces of wood two pots one switch a trem along with springs two pickups and some wire.....BP

Guitar Center stocks many BFR's, they just aren't stocked in every store. Maybe google and get store numbers in the city you are visiting.

Thanks for your replies! I will stay in Los Angeles, but of course rent a car .. I'll trie to do some research of the guitar centers (or other shops?) available in that corner. . Hope it works out, it seems to be a very popular guitar, which is understandable ^^

haven't been here for a while and when I come back I see more and more beautiful guitars! Great taste people! I will do everything I can to come up asap with something new on my own One thing I need to say...even if I was given to pick one guitar and keep it, I would have lot of trouble with choosing part...so many great finishes...

    cheers,
    Mike

BTW. Wish you all the best for the new year!

You know, the tone wood combination on the BFRs sounds really appealing to me, but i know this is going to sound strange, but with all the beautiful figured woods i've seen over the last few years, i've grown a little tired of the whole exotic wood thing.

I would LOVE to see a Petrucci with the BFR alder/mahogany tone bock/maple top wood combination, but no figured maple, the regular JP body shape (thicker lower horn and the arm scoop) and solid colour finishes.
    Gone, but not forgotten...

    I'm still glowing about this...

Simply incredible guitar, top to bottom. The tone, sustain, and feel is just addicting.

Here's mine. Black is just bad ass!

Funny though, as much as I love my BFR, I prefer the tone and feel of my regular JP6 lol! Doesn't matter though, neither are going anywere!

i dont think so... but it 'felt' thicker when i played one, but maybe that was because of the painted neck...
