Question Colours for the new Petrucci and Luke BFR's.

    G'day guys!

This i my first post so please excuse my ignorance

I love reading all the opinions in these posts, and catching up with the latest news.

    My query is this:

I read in a previous thread (I believe Pete responded) saying that the Luke and Petrucci would both be available in the 4 colours (Black, Walnut, Bahama, Ruby).

I just read in the News section of the Ernie Ball site that:

Ball Family Reserve John Petrucci F-1
Designed in conjunction with world-renowned Dream Theater guitarist John Petrucci, this new signature model features the finest tonewoods available including alder, maple and mahogany. A book-matched maple top shows off the instrument's exquisite grain pattern in a hand selected flame or quilted top. Available in Translucent Walnut and Translucent Black finishes and equipped with redesigned controls providing additional versatility and tonal options, the John Petrucci F-1 model sets the standard for the next generation of instrument innovation.

Ball Family Reserve Steve Lukather Model
Designed in conjunction with world-renowned session ace and Toto guitarist Steve Lukather, this instrument features a trio of premium tonewoods including alder, maple and mahogany. A book-matched maple top shows off the instrument's exquisite grain pattern in a hand selected flame or quilted top. Available in Translucent Ruby and Bahama Blueburst, the Ball Family Reserve Steve Lukather model showcases a meticulously crafted instrument, perfectly fit for one of the world's greatest musicians.

Is somebody able to clarify this for me? (I have already put money down for the new Petrucci at the local shop (Better Music in Canberra), however I am waiting for Matt to get back from NAMM / USA. He gets back tomorrow - I would like him to order a Bahama Blueburst Flame Petrucci if they do / will exist in that colour. If not I will probably go with the quilt Walnut

    Cheers guys!

    Jas.

Well, as far as I could tell...and this is just my interpretation of what's been said, both guitars are going to be available in all four colors. I believe you choose the color, and EBMM chooses the top (i.e., quilt or maple).

Yeah, I wasn't too sure. Cos the few pics of NAMM I have seen have shown Ruby and Walnut in both Flame and Quilt......Perhaps colour in the only choice you get!
