You know there was a guy here on the forum who had a Morse guitar and was planning to do something like that. I wonder if he ever pulled it off?
I certainly wouldn't trust myself taking a saw to a guitar. I would probably end up with one of these:

Buy a new scratchplate and drop the pickups in to make it HH.
