So your saying people with Black & Purple EVH's abuse their guitars more????...And that's why all most all of them have faded..Unless EBMM reshoots them ?????I've heard of not wanting to rock the boat on this forum..But that's the most screwed up reply I've seen posted lately...Are these the same people that abuse their guitars so the have paint fractures at the neck pocket as well...Because both of mine do...and so do most of those on Ebay. And all 5 of Jody Davis's EBMM he had on the THRIVE tour a couple years back with The Newsboys did.And it's the #1 question asked about EBMM by owners on other guitar boards .I enjoy my EBMM..but to post a reply to a comment like that is misleading

it is not a matter of abuse it is a matter of how much of its life it spent out of the case

In the case or out of the case I think its safe to say that the finishes on some of the EVH's (purple & black for instance) faded very quickly by comparison to virtually any other guitar on the market, EBMM or not.
You can slow down the process by keeping it in the case, no doubt. But that doesn't hide the fact that there was a problem with the stain on those colors. That's not a user problem. It's a production problem.
Rock the boat or not, it seems to be an indisputable fact. I'm assuming they've fixed the problem by now so it's no longer a problem on the Axis'.
Hunter, man, relax!
I think you misinterpreted Foggy. As Brent pointed out, the more those guitars are exposed to UV the more they fade. And the darker ones are more prone to fading as they have more colour to start with.
If you do a search on the forum you can turn up more info on this. There was an issue with the dyes used on the old EVHs which faded. It DOES NOT happen anymore and is an old issue.
