    Silent Circuit problem

I have an Axis Sport and SS, both with MM-90s. (I also have a HB SS.) Comparing the operation of the Silent Circuit, I am pretty certain there's something wrong with the Sport's wiring. Here are the symptoms:

    - The trim pot function is backwards compared to the one that's working in the SS. The hum is reduced when it's counterclockwise. (It's the other way in the SS, which is working great.)

    - I can increase the hum to an unbearable level by turning the trim pot clockwise with the battery in, but there's no difference between battery in or out once I've adjusted it to minimum hum. In other words, the Silent Circuit is basically operating to increase the hum rather than decrease it. Adjusting it to minimum hum sounds exactly the same with the battery in or out.

The symptoms make me think there's something wired backwards. It would be great if I could just compare the two. But my SS has the piezo preamp board so I can't just look at it to see if there's a diffrence.

I did get them both used. But the wiring in the Sport sure looks like it hasn't been tampered with - No signs at the switch terminals that anything's been resoldered, still has the shrink tubing in a couple of places.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

They are a bit hush-hush on general silent circuit info, it's patented & proprietary...
