    Me too!

I also think the PODxt can do a lot better. Mine does. Those things are like Mesas in a way - they take a lot of dialing in - but they can sound very very good. The tones in this clip aren't doing much for me - but the guy can sure play. And his technique is way better than mine!

I liked the song a lot too, and thought he played really well. I didn't too much enjoy the effects, they sounded a little "jagged" and nasal to me, when I like a smoother, rounder, more 20th Silo w/mahogany tone block sound.

This following one is a duet with that same guy playing one part and his friend playing the other. They did it all over the internet, cool! [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtiGIkcpmu0&NR=1"]YouTube - canon rock "final twin guitar"[/ame] Look at the unbelievingly ignorant comments -- the ones where people say that these two guys are the same guy... His playing doesn't bother me. Fine by me. I'm not into instrumental music, so it's the total lameness of the song and the squished-away-my-mids tone which are gonna keep me from sleeping well. ugg . .. .

Let me rephrase that. I don't like instrument GUITAR music, except Hedges.

Exactly! He kicks my but in playing so I say he's good!
Doesn't mean I'd buy his music though.

I don't define good from bad, and I don't compare it with myself or anyone else. I only know what I like. This stuff doesn't curl my toes or raise the hair on the back of my neck, no matter how technically difficult it is. I do know that there's nothing original about it. Even the players look bored.

Does technical difficulty equal good to you? That seems to be the standard these days, especially to other guitar players.

I'd have given a lot for a tone like that many(30)years ago!!

I agree with Candid in so far as it doesn't do it for me - but I appreciate what these guys have done and I think they have done a fine job.

Give me playing like Tyler any time - I go for the feel not the "pyrotechnics"
    - but hey - that's me!!

If you are directing this at me my answer is an easy no...speed junkie playing doesn't impress me much musically. I was just commenting on the fact that the dude does have some skills. Whether or not you get a boner from his particular taste of music is your business. To each his own. There is some music I might not personally get into but I can certainly appreciate the talent behind making it.

Now everyone go practice on your EBMM!

demullen, no, it wasn't directed at you specifically.

Yes, I can "admire" and even sometimes envy technical skill, speed, versatility, etc, but that doesn't mean I always enjoy listening to it. I'm with you - whatever floats yer boat.

If good/bad is a standard, let's hear how good one of us guitar hotshots can play this.

Not just because it's cute, or that she is so young. Listen to her phrasing and her freedom, and her pitch; and then measure the innocence and realness.

    That's what I'm talkin' about.
