    Not if it's a 89 model. Their vintage trem design is fairly new. Trust me bro, it makes floyds obsolete

    FWIW, I think the Floyd is still a more stable trem. But the big difference is more that the locking nut prevents binding up there. If you lube your nut (insert joke ...) or just make sure the strings don't bind there then this is much less of an issue.

    So, is a Floyd more stable? Yes. Is it worth the extra effort for string changes, locking up, etc? Only you can answer and it depends how much you use the bar. Keep in mind that John Petrucci and Luke both used to use Floyds and now are happy with the MM design. Same goes for me, though sadly nobody has reported that in the guitar mags ...
