Talking OT: A funny Walter Trout!

I was watching some YouTube vids prepping for the local BluesFest this weekend.
I came across this. He does something very funny about 2/3's into the Solo.

I think the Tyler Dow Bryant band should be flown up for the blues fest.

That would be awesome! I'd love to hang with him.

    Are you coming Windsor side?

    Tonight's headliner is Los Lobos
    Tomorrow is Robert Cray
    Saturday is Dave Mason
    and Sunday is Collin James.

Truth be told, I hadn't heard about it until you posted. Can't make it over until Sunday at earliest if I go. We'll see.

HAHA!. Man that was funny. Nice one Foggy. Why have I never heard this guy before? All these great Blues players keep passing me by. I think they must be avoiding me or something.
Carlsberg don't make guitars. But if they did they would probably...........not be as good as a musicman!!

I've been on a heavy blues kick for a while now.
The great thing about YouTube is that while you're watching one thing, it's got similar artist on the side bar. For me I really love finding out about an old or new artist that I either never heard of, or never really gave them a listen.

Foggy - nice one re you catching up on da blues.

Hope you're taking in Robben Ford, and Buddy Wittington from John Mayalls band too?

Also if you can, get to hear Robben play in his father's band the Ford Family.

Well, this past Friday Night Los Lobos rocked the house. I never realized how great a band they are!
Last night I saw Walter rip it up. He was really strong in the beginning, but then started to become a little monotonous. All in all it was great to see him.
Robert Cray was up next. I was really disappointed. I'm hoping it was an off night for him. I'm sure the fact that he wasn't scheduled to start until 11:40pm didn't help things. I appreciated everything he was doing and it was great to see a legend at it, but I think his set list could have been way better. He start off decently, then it became way too subdued for meat of the show. His encore was ok. I think his set list would have been way better in a smoke filled bar rather than an outdoor venue.
Tonight's show is Pat Traverse and Dave Mason. I'm pooped out so gave away my tickets.
Anyways I have been checking out Robben and he's great!
I'd never heard of Buddy Wittington, but will have to do some investigating. Thanks.
John Mayall came around to the Blues Fest here last year. I was away on vacation so missed the opportunity.

hey guys hi spud, love the blues stuff and had walters breaking the rules album years back, went to see him play cant rememeber where now or when but the place was packed and after a few numbers everyone was shouting turn your guitar up, we cant hear you and he repied, you can here it fine down here and pointed to the stage in front of him! i was shocked, he never turned up and i never got to here him! i was amazed at his attitude, now im not one to come on a forum and have a go at people, but this just amazed me. and the thing was i was about half way back in the room so consiquently a lot of people just walked from the back of the room. great player, great tone, great tracks, all i can think was he was having a bad day, someone had pied him off or something. i rememeber it was the album with "she left a message on the doorway" on it. anyway HAGO. alan brum

Shame that - he was damn loud the night I saw him and full of smiles after the gig too.

I should also give a mention to todays young gunslinger Joe Bonamassa

We shouldn't forget Tyler Dow Bryant too

Yup, Joe Bonamassa is my undisputed favourite blues guitarist... Even on the Bloodline album (whilst still in his teens) he was downright lethal - now the guy's a WoMD!!!
