my local dealer is annoying, they have exclusive MM importing rights and only selling the normal petrucci models, they woulden't sell the BFR ones so they told me. any place in the .us where i can get them ? how much do they cost ?
I don't know who you talked to, but I spoke long with Shmulik and he gave me a quote, and that was like a 2 months ago. They are well aware of the F1 and they can bring it in for you, but only if you order it, same as I had to do with my JP7

I must warn you tho, seat down when you hear the quote on the F1's.

Kevin, no need to worry. All of the guys at Marom, Udi, Shmulik and of course, Gil, are great with their MM's, and since last year there's allways a nice varied stock to try out. We are taken care of.

they didn't know what a BFR was ?
maybe I should have asked about F-1.

waste of time though, it would cost like 5000$ around here.
and everytime i call it seems the petrucci is out of stock and they never call me back when it arrives, so i got tired of them.

You have to order it. Even here in the U.S. there are very few places that have these guitars in stock. If a place has one or two guitars, that's usually all they have. Often, one has to order them.

But i've been calling on and off for a year and they never called me back, that's why i gave up on them. I will buy it from ebay i guess.

There are never any Petrucci's in stock. Never. You will not get to play one in there, because they won't order one without a customer special order, and if a guitar comes in that allready has someones name on it, they will never let you play it and open her up for you. I know I'd be really pissed if they put my JP7 out on display when it arrived so that 12 year olds could play it.

Don't ride those guys, I don't know who you talked to but Shmulik and Gil are well aware of the BFR's and the F1's, I've talked to Gil about this right after NAMM and he knew exactley what I talked about. I will not let you bad mouth them.

On the price issue, it's a problem, but I don't think ordering from Ebay would solve it, because you'll have to add allmost 200$ in shipping to this poor ass country + 15.5% taxes for the item's price + shipping, which comes out at not so far from Marom's price, and for that you'll get a second hand with no warrenty.

Believe me, I was in the same dillema, and ended up ordering from Marom, and I don't regret it one bit, those guys are awesome.

i'm not bad mouthing them, but i called them 3 times the past year and they never returned my calls once, i got tired, and price doesn't come out at 12,700 nis thank you very much. plus, there are no taxes on guitars, only taxes on shipment, so you get around 1000 nis duties, 5000 for the guitar, and another 1200 for shipment, that's 7200 nis, FAR less than marom's price.

why would i need a warranty on a guitar ? if i know it's used, i know it is working, and working well, plus, i know how to take care of my guitars, much better than most techs around, so warranty is useless to me.

I don't remember who i spoken to, but i know gili, he's a cool guy, i don't think it was him on the phone.

even with discount and all they won't let it go for less than 11,000 i believe, that's still far more than if i import it myself.

I've imported 4 guitars by now, i know the drill and know who to go to and how to make the shipment, it's not that expensive if you know how to play your cards right.

Knock yourself out. I orderd when the $ was about 5 NIS, so for me it came really close.

And for what I know you do pay taxes for shipping, but whatever.

Oh, and a fully loaded Mystic dream JP6 will NOT cost you 5000 in the states. we're not allowed to discuss street prices anyway, so let's stop, even if it's in NIS.

So now that the Dargie's are done, we won't see any more Mr H's made and we probably won't see a global warming model (other than maybe for DaveB), I'm hoping for "an official Red Ryder carbine action two-hundred shot range model air rifle" MM. Maybe EB can put "a compass in the [head]stock and this thing that tells time"!

Why not? 2008 will be the 25th anniversary of the movie release. It could happen!

Sorry....I'm in one of those moods today...
