Yup, those are them. I think they will re-spray the clear coat if you ask. I don't think there is anything actual damaging about those kind of cracks and that is about as bad as they'll get. For the record, I've seen plenty of St**ts do this too...

Those are stress cracks. However they are cosmetic only. So if you can live with them it they do not effect the build of the guitar at all.

OK - BP's not gonna like it if this is a new guitar under warranty. - and you do say "lovely new guitar"
If it is new and under warranty then contact your dealer who will sort this out for you via the EB customer service. We had a post from one of our mods the other day saying "go to your dealer first"!

It's not etiquette to post things like this rather than take the normal course of action, BP puts a lot of bucks into providing this service- maybe you didn't know before posting - but I hope that I've put you in the picture.

Be aware though that if you do get, let's say a (and I'm not Ernie Ball so it's a hypothetical) replacement body then you could end up with a completely different sounding guitar.

So contact the shop you got it from.

    Hey Dude,
you asked, if these are stress cracks - Yes. But donīt worry - harmless

For the rest of your question: talk to CS what to do

And try the search function. It is discussed several times.

Just wanted to make sure before I went back to my dealer - it sounds like these are common so I guess I will probably just live with them. Just seems a shame that within 2 months of ownership this has happened........ No damage to guitar, just these little cracks! If they are normal, I'd prefer to keep the guitar than have it messed about with!

If I was you, I'd inform the dealer anyway.

If the guitar is new, and stress cracks developed, you shouldn't have to "live with them." Contact your dealer. Just so you know, if the guitar is under warranty and EBMM fixes it, they will replace the whole body.

I have them on my JP but they're the tiniest little things. Sometimes I look for them and can't see them. My JP's still very new and definitely under warranty but why even bother? They're actually symmetrical so it's like added decoration!

We aint talkin about cheap guitars here, we are talking about some expensive instruments. Fact is, when ya get a MM, you think you are gonna keep it forever because they are that good, but after a while here, GAS kicks in, and you may wish to sell in favour of something else like a new Ltd ED.

Personally, I would get it sorted out, simply for future resale purposes. MM's are high quality across the board, its not like we have to keep them because we are scared we wont get another one as good

MM customer service are here for the exact purpose of looking after customers, I am sure they will be only too happy to help. Get it sorted now before you get further down the line and regret not getting it done.
