Placed An Order - Now The Wait :(

Well, after much debate on whether to buy any available new Axis, a used Axis, or special order my dream Axis....I made the decision to place a special order. I really wanted a black cherry burst hardtail and decided it best to get what I really wanted. Lock-NY had a fantastic barely used Axis SS (see MusicMan Guitars For Sale thread) at a very reasonable price. I just figured I'd make my first Axis the exact setup I've always wanted.

So, now I have to wait Maybe checking into this forum from time-to-time and looking at other members' guitars will hold me over. I can't wait to post my own pics and my first thoughts. I hope I can last!!!!

Funny you send that picture. I think you got that from Chuck Levin's, a Rockville, Maryland store which is not that far from my location. Unfortunately, I am not a lefty. I love that color! This was one of the pictures that sold me on Black Cherry Burst. It was between this and Pacific Blue Burst. Both are beautiful colors. Ironically, I found another store that had a lefty Pacific Blue Burst. I guess I was born with the wrong wiring

I was in the same situation as you and every Axis that I saw, I liked, but I knew I wouldn't be happy unless I had a brand new one in the configuration I wanted.

One thing I have learned from owning and selling off many guitars is never settle for a guitar unless it has the exact specs that you are looking for. Once you start to comprimise you'll probably end up selling it in the future to get what you want anyway.

Nice choice, I always say buy right the first time. It will work out cheaper in the long run.

I feel your pain, I placed my order for a new tobacco burst Axis SS a few weeks ago. However, seeing the cherry burst has made me question my decision, that is a really cool finish.
