    OT: Blackheart Killer Ant?

Did anyone who attended NAMM see anything about this new fractional tube amp from Blackheart Engineering? This thing looks very cool, and the price seems to be right too.

Beware Killer Ants from Outer Space!!!

I posted on the discussion forum about epiphone Amps and I may have mentioned these amps in that thread (or at least I mentioned them somewhere).

I heard good things about these and if anybody on the forum asks about "bedroom/practice ants" I would always recommend these.

    Great ants for the money.

    Edit:
I really thought Fred had dropped a clanger calling it "Ant"!!

These Blackhearts are phenomonial. We can't keep them instock! They're far better than the Epi Valve JRs, due to their wattage selector, and ofcourse, the EQ section. Awesome, awesome, awesome!

    On the Killer Ant

I was not at Namm and did not hear it; Mike Matthews has the 2nd Small Fry i built in 1993 or so, just like this. Way wacky, I used a 12DW7 as the second tube as the 12AU7 half drove a full, raging half a watt rms. It is a half watt 2203 Marshall champ.

They are a great idea. Glad someone finally marketed one!

Rowbi from the Line 6 forum has a pretty cool demo for the blackheart. He also has some videos where he is using it. It's a great piece of equipment.

Samples sound very compressed to me, hence that popping attack. Almost tweed w/tube rectifier sounding.

Bruce it costs less than a tank of gas! - I cannot say enough good things about these amps, and the documentation is written by real people - Pytor Belov is the man behind the blackheart, I have mine with an AB to my fender hot rod - and use an AB box with some FX> My Al sounds amazing through it -

Believe it's a reference to the output being less than or a "fraction" of one watt. There are others available in the fractional category i.e. the Little Lanilei 1/4 watt amp etc.

I had a Little Lanilei and it was a really nice amp, but it had very limited setting and it just wasn't right for me.

Smelly you have a Blackheart? How long have you had it man?
